PANDEMIC PRINTS + PAGES

ABOUT THE PROJECT

In the spirit of the 1930s WPA artist projects, Downtown Oklahoma City Initiatives sought to employ local artists to create art around the theme of “Distancing in Downtown” during the pandemic.

For any questions about the DOKC Initiatives’ Pandemic Prints + Pages, please contact our office at info@downtownokc.com.

PRINTS

Calling back to those iconic posters from the WPA, these five posters speak to the weird and heavy times of 2020. These limited edition prints will be popping up around downtown OKC.

COLORING PAGES

Downtown OKC Initiatives has partnered with ten local artists to create two coloring pages for each downtown district: Arts District, Automobile Alley, Bricktown, City Center, Deep Deuce and Midtown. Local artists visited each district to draw inspiration from the history, restaurants, retail, buildings, and street life. Select businesses in each district have coloring pages to give to customers and guests.

ARTS DISTRICT

Meghan Wallace

Oklahoma artist, Haley Spradlin began her career as a graphic designer here in the metro and intertwines her art training into brand identities, illustrations, and mural designs. Her approach is customized to each individual project beginning with meticulous research to find the subtly clever notes about the space, occasion, or audience, resulting in works of art that are truly memorable. This personally tailored approach leads to exploring and honing a variety of artistic disciplines, though she is drawn most often to concepts that include a bold color palette and whimsical celebration of fun.

AUTOMOBILE ALLEY

Becca Wolf

TrashWolf is an artist living and painting in OKC. Her art pulls from that place between hard and soft, a little strange, bright colors, a blend of artificial and natural flavors, if you will. The past two years, her murals have popped up from The Plaza in OKC to Norman, and most recently The District Hotel. When she’s not painting, or sketching...or scheming, she can be found kicking back with some video games, a good book... or lets be honest probably taking a nap/ searching for that next perfect cup of coffee.
