The April 19 Remembrance Ceremony takes place Friday, April 19 at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and is open to everyone. This is the 29th anniversary of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. Our community gathers together to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. 168 seconds of silence will be observed at 9:02 a.m. and family members will read the 168 names. The Memorial will welcome U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, with “Remarks for the Nation.” Caitlin Durkovich, Deputy Homeland Security Advisor, National Security Council, will deliver “Lessons Learned Here by Working Together.”
Governor Kevin Stitt will provide “Remarks for the State” and OKC Mayor David Holt, “Remarks from the City.” The Memorial Museum is free on April 19, thanks to Cox Community Day.
