Downtown in December presented by Devon is a collection of holiday events and attractions that take place in downtown Oklahoma City throughout the holiday season. The event series, created by Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership, provides a central location for many community events put on by nonprofits and businesses for residents and visitors to enjoy. Many of the staple events and attractions have become important traditions within our city.
Kick-off the holiday season at the Oklahoma City Tree Lighting Festival being held in Bricktown on Thursday, November 18th at 5pm. The festival will include free family-friendly activities such as free photos with Santa Claus, balloon art, caricatures, a Magic Elf, and a Letters to Santa station. There will also be live performances from local acts taking place on stage. The Virtual Holiday Special will debut Friday, November 26th. The program will feature footage from the in-person festival, the lighting of the tree, additional holiday performances, and messages from special guests including Santa himself. (Note: the in-person celebration on Nov. 18 was canceled)
The following Saturday is the first in the four-week series of Lights On Broadway in Automobile Alley. Visit the district on November 20th & 27th and December 4th & 11th from 4-7pm to view beautiful lights, buzz-worthy window displays, pop-up activities, and special promotions. With over 600,00 lights, Automobile Alley is sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
Stay active during this holiday season and join us at the Saints Santa Run in Midtown on Saturday, December 4th at 7:30am. This festive 5k will take place throughout the district and is a fun way to stay fit with friends and family. Register now to be a part of this year’s race. Don’t forget about the pups! Bring your furry friends to A Dog Day in December holiday party on Thursday, December 2nd from 5:30-8pm at the Midtown Mutts Dog Park. There will be photos with Santa printed on-site for $10 each, complimentary “puppuccinos”, and a festive atmosphere.
The Devon Ice Rink also returns for its 10th season in the Myriad Botanical Gardens in 2021! Get ready for another great winter of outdoor ice skating at Downtown in December’s premier attraction currently set to open on Friday, November 19th. Skate across 5,500 square feet of real ice and indulge in seasonal food and beverage offerings. Experience the magical, park-like atmosphere surrounded by the glittering lights of the Devon Ice Rink.

Downtown in December began in 2001 with a handful of events and has grown and evolved over the years, much like the downtown area, to include over 30 events and attractions. We are excited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Downtown in December in 2021 and look forward to it being bigger and brighter than ever.
