SUMMARY:Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias
DESCRIPTION:Good fences make good neighbors … right? A hilarious hot-button comedy\, You can’t choose your neighbors. In this brilliant new comedy\, cultures and gardens clash\, turning well-intentioned neighbors into feuding enemies. Pablo\, a rising attorney\, and doctoral candidate Tania\, his very pregnant wife\, have just purchased a home next to Frank and Virginia\, a well-established D.C. couple with a prize-worthy English garden. But an impending barbeque for Pablo’s colleagues and a delicate disagreement over a long-standing fence line soon spirals into an all-out border dispute\, exposing both couples’ notions of race\, taste\, class and privilege. \n \n“Native Gardens is a true breath of comic fresh air. It’s a biting\, perceptive\, and ultimately hopeful sendup to our fraught relationships with those around us – even right next door. Beyond snappy one-liners and garden hose fights\, the play challenges audiences to look beyond petty differences and rediscover our shared decency.” – DC Theatre Scene

SUMMARY:Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson
DESCRIPTION:The true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries when women’s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them. Social progress\, like scientific progress\, can be hard to see when one is trapped among earthly complications; Henrietta Leavitt and her female peers believe in both\, and their dedication changed the way we understand both the heavens and Earth. \n“Lauren Gunderson’s luminously beautiful play SILENT SKY is an intellectual epic told on an intimate scale. Bottom line: Heavenly.” —Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

SUMMARY:The Game's Afoot (or Holmes for the Holidays)
DESCRIPTION:NOVEMBER 29-DECEMBER 15\, 2024 \nTHE GAMES AFOOT (OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS) – a farcical murder mystery by Ken Ludwig\nDirected by Rhonda Clark\nIt is December 1936\, and Broadway star William Gillette\, admired the world over for his leading role in the play “Sherlock Holmes\,” has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death\, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.\n“An inspired whodunit…a snappy\, clever drawing-room mystery. There are twists in playwright Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot that cause the audience to gasp.” —The Cleveland Plain Dealer\n“…amusing and often extremely funny.” —Chicago Theare Review
