Celebrate Black History Month with We Are the Roots: Film Screening & Discussion! This program brings together film and oral histories to explore the past and present lives of Black peoples in the United State and Canada., featuring short films by Solomon Sir Jones, Melinda James and Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, We Are the Roots: Black Settlers and Their Experiences of Discrimination on the Canadian Prairies. Hang around for a post-viewing discussion led by Deborah Dobbins of the Shiloh Centre for Multicultural Roots and Kalenda Eaton, Ph.D., of the Oklahoma Black Homesteader Project.
