Landrunners OKC Running Club

April 10, 2021 @ 7:00 am - 8:00 am

Runners rolling start between 7:15AM – 7:45AM

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ!
Do NOT show up if you: 1) are feeling sick, even if you have mild symptoms; 2) have tested positive for COVID-19 and still under quarantine; or 3) have been exposed and under quarantine awaiting test results. Please do YOUR part to stop the spread!

Form groups of 10 people MAXIMUM while maintaining physical distancing of at least 6 FEET from other runners AT ALL TIMES. Members of the same household do not need to maintain this separation.

It is strongly encouraged that you wear a mask, buff or other multifunctional face covering that can be pulled over the nose and mouth if it is necessary to pass people when there is no opportunity to keep 6 feet of separation.

Small groups should run no more than 2 wide, in staggered formation, while maintaining 6 FEET of spacing.

If you do not follow these recommendations, we may discontinue our group runs. Please do your part and protect our running family!

Be sure to follow current CDC guidance at: https://www.cdc.gov/cor…/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html

START LOCATION
Scissortail Park – plenty of street parking is available in the area. Parking meters are free on weekends. It is encouraged that you wear your mask while in the park when social distancing is not possible.

The area behind the stage at the northern section of Scissortail Park is the start location for this run. Bathrooms are available and will open at 6:30 AM. We recommend all runners bring hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes in order to remain safe if using restroom facilities and public water fountains.

Runners are encouraged to start their runs between 7:15AM and 7:45AM in groups of 10 people or less. Upon arrival at the start location, meet up with a few friends (staying 6 feet apart) or make some new ones (also staying 6 feet apart) and then start running!

COURSE INFORMATION
We have mapped out a 3, 4 and 6 mile loop course to kick off (see the color coding on the map). Run it once, twice, three times, etc. or branch off into other areas of downtown, Bricktown, River Trails if you are comfortable doing so.Course allows for multiple start location options if you feel more comfortable starting at another location along the route so you can maintain your distance from others (street parking is free on Saturdays in most places).

BRING YOUR OWN HYDRATION
Bring extra water and keep in your vehicle at your start location. We will NOT be providing water stops during this run.

We strongly recommend bringing your own running hydration system with you during your run. This can be a hand-held water bottle, waist belt or hydration vest/pack.

AFTER YOUR RUN
Once finished running you may continue to form groups of 10 people MAXIMUM, being mindful to keep separated by 6 feet. It is still strongly encouraged that you wear a mask, buff or other multifunctional face covering. You should not form two groups of 10 people immediately adjacent to one another – this means one group shouldn’t be able to hold a conversation with the other group.

SAFETY AND RUNNING
This is NOT A CLOSED COURSE – this means you will likely be sharing the streets with normal traffic and sharing the trails with other pedestrians including cyclists.

Maintain physical distancing of at least 6 FEET from other runners and pedestrians. Be mindful of wind direction when running in close proximity to others, and adjust distancing as needed.

On the streets, run on the LEFT SIDE of the street, facing traffic, and not in the middle of the road. When approaching traffic get in a SINGLE FILE LINE with other runners and move to the far left, leaving as much space as possible for traffic. LOOK both ways before running through intersections – don’t simply “follow the group.”

On the trails, run on the RIGHT SIDE of the trail while leaving space for oncoming pedestrians and cyclists. Do not make abrupt stops and turns – you do not want a cyclist crashing into you from behind.

Let’s be courteous with others in our community and respectfully share the roads and trails. The safety of our participants is always our primary concern.

ABOUT OUR TRAINING RUNS
As always training is FREE and open to all walkers and runners, regardless of your training goals. You do not need to be a member to attend.

WAIVER
The Landrunners cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during a group training run and will not be responsible for any potential exposure. By attending a Landrunner training run, you acknowledge and agree that you assume the inherent risks associated with attendance.
