January 14 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm$30
Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership’s annual Developers’ Luncheon returns on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 at 11:00am in OCU School of Law’s McLaughlin Hall. All are invited to attend and hear from guest speaker Albus Brooks, VP of Business Development and Strategy for Milender White and a national leader on urban issues.
As Vice President, Brooks is charged with building on Milender White’s legacy of constructing and developing equitable and key community projects. That legacy includes the Rose Andom Center for victims of domestic abuse, Denver Union Station and multiple affordable housing projects in the region.
At the core of Brooks’ identity is community development and servant leadership. He pursued these callings early in his career by working with young people in Denver’s poor communities. He also served as the Director of the Issachar Center for Urban Leadership, an organization that invests in Denver’s emerging leaders.
In 2011, Brooks defeated 38 opponents to become the youngest African American elected to Denver City Council. During his 8 years, Brooks accomplished an ambitious range of progressive legislative victories with the goal of building a truly inclusive city.
Brooks is an Aspen Rodel Fellow and has an MBA from the University of Denver and a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
