Canterbury Voices: The Sacred Veil

Canterbury Voices presents the Oklahoma premiere of Eric Whitacre’s ‘The Sacred Veil,’ a 12-movement collaboration between Eric Whitacre and poet/lyricist Charles Anthony Silvestri, telling a story of life, love and loss. “What if our departed loved ones are not truly gone, but are closer than we think?” says Silvestri. “That veil between here and there is always very close, and we are not as separated as we often feel.”

The music is lovely and conveyed in language that is full with meaning. With the beauty of Canterbury’s chorus, the intimate, compelling score tells a story of courtship, love, loss, and the search for solace. Featuring piano, cello, and four vocal soloists.
